I think this is on of the best brokers around. This is a company that is used by money managers and institutional investors. Low commissions great executions. The best broker that I have ever used.
I use Interactive Brokers because they have an excellent API for which I am developing a semi automated system for. They have low commissions for everything and pretty tight spread on forex. I do not trade on news, so the fact that the spread increases during news, doesn’t bother me. Reading reviews on this web site however it seems all brokers are increasing their spreads during news. The platform can be confusing initially, but I find it very flexible. The real time charts are pretty ordinary, and I don’t use them. The only thing bothers me with IB, is their accounting, especially if you trade forex.
Just trying the paper trading - semms to be good, opening an access is very difficult for german people because the explanations are just in english. Fazit: good execution, free outbound wire transfer each month, great commission rates. My problem is a litle bit the trading platform. But i will learn.
Best broker for stocks, options, etc. I am also finding out they are excellent for FX. Professional, listed on stock exchange so you know how stable the company is. With other FX brokers they could disappear with your money overnite, especially the ones overseas and in New York. I'm not sure why some people feel badly about them (could be just the competition harping on them), but I think they're geared toward the professional without any hand holding. Have been with them 4+ years. Am considering them for my Artificial Intelligence Interface into TWS with their automated APIs e.g., Java etc. I think others do not even come close to the technology these guys provide.
I'm using them, first to trade the Hang Seng Futures and now for forex. The customer service is pretty useless. This brokerage is actually for "white-brand" broker. Good executions for forex. Pretty good platform. But then again, this is the first broker for my forex trading.
